Gulp a glass of the Gauldrons

Campbeltown Courier - - DISTRICTS -

A WHISKY bottler trying to tap into the popularity of Campbeltown malts has released a single cask bottling named Gauldrons.

Glasgow firm Douglas Laing & Co has added its branded ‘Campbeltown’ whisky, as the sixth in its regional malt range although it is not yet listed on the firm’s website.

The firm claims Gauldrons takes its name from ‘dark sandy coves’ in Campbeltown.

The packaging and label shows a spider attempting to build a web repeatedly which inspired Robert the Bruce to fight for his throne and who, according to legend, sheltered in the Gauldrons Bay.
