Precision and speed spell success

Campbeltown Courier - - ARGYLL ENTERPRISE WEEK -

Who would suspect that that a small, Argyll town would have a close connection with the blockbusting juggernaut that is Harry Potter? The fact is, Precision Photofabrication Developments Ltd (PPD Ltd), a family-run business based in Lochgilphead, made the stunning and delicate wings for the Snitch, amongst other props, in the movie franchise. Formed more than 30 years ago by Jean and Ian McCartan, PPD Ltd is now owned and managed by their sons, John and Stuart. The business has grown through attention to detail, competitive costs, and by treating every customer with the same care and respect. The business exports throughout the world and supplies many high profile companies and also the individual hobbyist. It provides quality etched parts for model railways, architectural models, sculptures, jewellery, engineering prototypes, veneered products and, of course, those amazing TV and film props. These props are supplied both within the UK and overseas and, given the fast-paced nature of the industry, frequently have to be delivered within one to two days of the order.
