October gales batter Dunaverty golfers

A SMALL contingent of Dunaverty golf club members braved gale force wind and showers to play in the October medal.

The inclement weather made for an unpleasant round of golf.

Bill Brannigan led at the turn, reaching it in 38 shots, closely followed by Alex Arkell on 39.

Alex lost two balls on the inward half, ruling him out of contention, while Bill managed to hold his game together to return a 39 for the last nine, which was good enough to ensure him of the win.

CSS for the day was 64.

Result: 1 Bill Brannigan 77-12=65, 2 Grant Edmondson 91-13=78, 3 Malcolm Ronald 9617=79.
