Take a trip to Hundred Acre Wood for charity

-

Campbeltown Picture House has joined a national campaign to raise money to help hospital patients feel better with film. A charity screening of Disney’s Christopher Robin at 5.15pm on Thursday August 16, the day before its general UK release, will raise money for MediCinema, a charity which builds and manages cinemas in hospitals across the country. The charity aims to improve the difficult reality for patients and their families of being stuck in hospital by bringing them a genuine cinema experience. Campbeltown Picture House joins hundreds of cinemas across the country in screening the live action/ CGI adaptation of the story of a disenfranchised, adult Christopher Robin who rediscovers the joys of life when he is visited by his old childhood friend, Winnie the Pooh. Ewan McGregor, who plays the titular character, encouraged people to get involved, saying: ‘On August 16, buy a ticket to Christopher Robin and visit the Hundred Acre Wood. ‘Doing so, you’ll be helping more people and their loved ones in more hospitals to do the same.’ Tickets are on sale for the screening and the cinema advises booking in advance to avoid disappointment.
