Ladies charity open helps hospital funds

Machrihanish ladies clubbed together in an open competition to raise £230 for Campbeltown Hospital palliative care unit. Recently, two dozen golfers competed in the club’s Ladies’ Charity Open. The club thanked all who supported the event and helped raise funds. Prizes were donated by Tesco, Coop, club professional Jennie Dunn, club steward Iain MacLean and Machrihanish Golf Club. Results – winner: Ann Gallacher 38 points BIH CSS 68, 2 Angela Vernel 38 points, 3 Ruth McGougan 36 points. Scratch: 1 Elizabeth Casey 38 points BIH, 2 Jennifer Gilchrist 38 points, 3 Linda Wallace 32 points. Longest drive (silver): Elizabeth Casey. Longest drive (bronze): Linda McFadyen.
