Tenant’s anger at ACHA chief

Campbeltown Courier - - NEWS -

Sir, I am not happy with Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) chief executive, Alastair MacGregor’s comments, naming me in a letter to the Courier and stating I am happy with the proposal to raze Dalintober estate to the ground. ACHA is pulling my house down. It has let Dalintober Estate fall into disrepair which is why there are 30 vacant properties. Two years ago they told us they were planning to do this, so folk have moved out, otherwise there would not be 30 vacant properties. It is a done deal, so we just have to accept it this time, whether we, the tenants, are happy or not, so what is the point of fighting the plan. Historic Environment Scotland was supposed to conduct a walk round on Monday. I did not see them but I thought nothing was supposed to happen until the New Year, which makes it look as if it is happening. Carol Anne Shields, Princes Street, Campbeltown.
