Sometimes little things mean the most
It has been so heartening to see photographs of children hugging aunts, uncles, grandparents and other loved ones for the first time in months now that it is allowed under government guidelines.
A hug is such a small act but it has so much meaning. Hugging our loved ones is something many of us once did on a daily basis and took completely for granted.
The fact that children can now play and socialise together must also be such a relief for them, and they so deserve to enjoy it after months of completing their school work from home in very unusual circumstances.
Life is by no means back to normal, but this small step in the direction of normality is welcomed.
It was also heartening to hear that even lockdown could not stop Willie McMillan from celebrating his 86th birthday.
Many of his friends and family took time to post cards and gifts to Willie’s Campbeltown home – another small gesture which has so much meaning.
When surrounded by so much darkness and seriousness it is important to remember that there is also so much good happening in the world.
The look back at all that Kintyre Community Resilience Group has done over the last few months is a helpful reminder of this.
