RED WHEEL FOR TARDEBIGGE

Canal Boat - - News -

Tardebigge Lock Flight on the Worcester & Birmingham Canal, the country’s longest with 30 narrow locks, has been awarded one of the Transport Trust’s Red Wheel plaques marking significant sites in transport history. Tardebigge was where waterway revival champions Tom Rolt and Robert Aickman met in 1945. David Viner, heritage advisor at the Canal & River Trust, said: “Tardebigge was where it all turned around for the canals, so it’s fantastic to see its important history marked.”
