Canal Boat - - Letters - A McRAE, via email

FIRST OF ALL, can we stop labelling continuous cruisers with the same label as those who choose to constantly moor?

We are registered as continuous cruisers and cruise the canals all summer, then winter in a marina. It is arrogant of Mr Edwards to suggest we should pay a licence fee to continuously cruise. I assume he is a ‘tweeker’ – those who only use their boat a couple of weeks a year then expect everyone else to leave the canals to suit them.

I agree the constant moorers are a big problem, but don’t paint us all with the same brush. Mr Edwards should be grateful that genuine constant cruisers keep the canals in use so he can enjoy his holidays.
