An electric idea
IN A BID to go green and encourage shared vehicle use, Pillings Lock Marina has taken delivery of an electric Renault Zoe hatchback.
It’s the first vehicle in a trial community car scheme where varying levels of subscription are available for users to be able to hop in, run their errands and hop out again ready for the next person to use it.
The scheme is open to all berth holders, permanent or visitors, who are aged over 30 and have a clean licence. With rates as low as £1.67 per hour and no mileage charges, the scheme has the potential to benefit not only the environment but also help berth holders reduce or even eliminate the cost of running their own car.
