TECHNICAL

Canal Boat - - The Boat Test -

Technically, this boat is fairly straightforward. The engine is the ubiquitous Beta 43, but, as was Steve Hudson’s habit, it’s sprayed silver, rather than the usual green. As this is a shorter boat than most, there’s no room in the engine hole for a hospital silencer.

Electrical power comes from four 160Ah domestic batteries, plus one for the engine. A 240-volt supply is from a Victron 3kW Multi-inverter/charger. The shoreline point is at the stern.

Heating comes from an Eberspächer diesel boiler.
