It’s enough to make you weep...

Canal Boat - - Back Cabin: - MARK WALTON, via email TONY REPLIES…

The nut on one of my BMC engine’s injector pipes has split causing a weep from the injector on to the engine block. It’s irritating, where can I get another one?

QA. Most diesel fuel injection specialists will make up new pipes using the old one as a pattern, although you may have to put all the bends in the pipe yourself.

Look in yellow pages or on Yell etc to find your local specialist. If that does not produce anything, ask for a lead at local second line (non-dealer) garages, especially ones that work on vans etc. The specialist might even cut the nipple off the old pipe so the nut can be changed and then fit or form a new nipple. In that way, you will only have minor pipe bending to do.
