Canal Boat - - Back Cabin: -

This is a converted Town Class working boat, originally constructed by Harland & Wolff as a butty to carry cargo for the Grand Union Canal Company.

Baildon was converted in 1972-3 by Malcolm Braine of Norton Canes to a trad style, with a boatman’s cabin and engine room. In 1998, the Warwickshire Fly Boat Company re-bottomed the hull with a 10mm steel baseplate. In 1990, it was fitted with a new Russell Newbery DM2 engine. It can sleep up to seven and is equipped with a diesel stove for cooking, a fridge/freezer, a bath and a Porta Potti wc.

Baildon is not so much looking for a new owner as a passionate boater to cherish it for many years. (All the photos show the boat today, except the one above left which shows her in days gone by with fellow working boat Sudbury) aqueductbrokerage.co.uk 01270 525046 A classic narrowboat with a long history that can sleep up to seven
