Pipedreams do come true
ONE MORE OBSTACLE to the restoration of the Lichfield is seen being dealt with, as a section of a large concrete pipe is removed from the bed of the canal in Lichfield.
After the canal closed, a storm water drain was laid in the canal bed in the 1960s. It has taken three years for the Lichfield & Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust and its consultants to agree with the Environment Agency the necessary provisions for its removal. Consent was finally given and in May, and removal began.
