RESTORATION’S A LARK...

Canal Boat - - News -

Our picture shows Colin Ogden and ex-British Waterways man Keith Tassart putting the finishing touches to their restoration of Larkrigg Hall bridge by fixing on its number plate. The grade II listed bridge, on the section of the Lancaster which is de-watered but proposed for restoration by Lancaster Canal Trust, is owned by farmers Graham and Sheila Wilson. They were impressed with the knowledge and enthusiasm shown by Colin and Keith and gave permission for the work to go ahead. Using the correct lime mortar mix and pointing techniques learned from Colin’s master mason father, the repairs conform to heritage standards.
