NEW FACILITIES IN LEICESTER

Canal Boat - - News -

Secure moorings and water, with electricity to follow, have been established at the recently restored Friars Mill on the River Soar Navigation in Leicester. Elsan disposal should be installed soon a little further downstream. The new moorings are only a few yards from the Richard III exhibition that has been established where his remains were discovered. City Mayor Peter Soulsby said: “Having come so close to losing such an important part of Leicester’s industrial heritage in 2012, when the old factory was nearly destroyed by fire, it’s wonderful to see the building restored to its former glory – and to see boats moored outside it once again.”
