ALONG THE HACKNEY CANAL

Canal Boat - - News -

This is a book of photographs of the River Lee and waterways of the Hackney Marshes area of East London – but don’t expect pictures of narrowboats or locks and bridges. No, this is a collection of uncaptioned art photography by a graduate of photojournalism and documentary photography. It depicts subjects such as patterns of waves on water; trees and vegetation in all weather from frost to sunshine and mist; cormorants perched in leafless winter trees; the local Jewish community walking in the marshes in their distinctive dress; even the odd abandoned shopping trolley or carrier bag provides material for the photographer’s lens.
