Canal Boat - - News -

A crack has opened up in a road alongside the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal, where it runs along the Usk valley side between Crickhowell and Gilwern, leading to traffic restrictions and concerns that there might be problems with the canal. Although the Canal & River Trust believes there is ‘no significant risk’ to the canal, a stoppage is planned between bridges 103 and 109 to help with investigations. No dates have yet been given, but it is hoped that it can run concurrently with the winter stoppage planned nearby at Llangattock and Dardy.
