No spread of pre-booking

Canal Boat - - Letters -

I’D LIKE TO agree with Nick Wall that boating is certainly about the freedom to roam ( Editor’s Welcome, CB, November about CRT’s plans for a one-stopbooking service).

However, when so many people have jam-packed lives, we want to make it as easy as possible for them to enjoy their time on the water, and having the certainty that they can plan their trip into places like central London and be sure of a place to moor.

I can assure Nick that pre-bookable moorings will only ever be used for very popular spots that make up a tiny fraction of moorings on our waterways. MIKE GRIMES Head of Boating, Canal & River Trust
