NEW MA­RINA FOR STRAT­FORD

A 50-berth ma­rina un­der con­struc­tion on the Strat­ford Canal is planned to open April 2017. Hill Farm Ma­rina, to be jointly run by farm­ing fam­ily David and Leanne Amor with busi­ness part­ner David Crooke, will be lo­cated north of Bridge 56 on the South­ern Strat­ford near Woot­ton Wawen.

NEXT YEAR’S PICS WANTED

This splen­did shot (taken by Myra Stokes of the Grand Union in Berkham­sted) fea­tures on the month of Oc­to­ber on the In­land Wa­ter­ways As­so­ci­a­tion’s 2017 Cal­en­dar, on sale now. ART FOR WORCES­TER­SHIRE

A new arts project be­gin­ning next year will bring a cre­ative spirit to Worces­ter­shire’s wa­ter­ways. Led by the Canal & River Trust, The Ring will be an 18-month long se­ries of events and art com­mis­sions cel­e­brat­ing the re­gion’s canals and rivers. Lo­ca­tions be­ing con­sid­ered for art work in­stal­la­tions in­clude Diglis Basins, The Com­man­dery in Worces­ter and Han­bury Canal Junc­tion.

HOLE-FILL­ING CADETS

A team of army cadets from Stour­bridge spent a day help­ing the Canal & River Trust look af­ter the Staffs & Worcs tow­path. The cadets, from the Here­ford & Worces­ter Army Cadet Force Stour­port Pla­toon, filled in pot-holes to cre­ate a pud­dle-free walk­ing route into Stour­port town cen­tre.
