Canal Boat - - News -

RATHER THAN JUST looking up to enjoy the colours of the leaves or feeling a trunk’s texture, why not find out more about the trees you can see on a canalside stroll?

Tree ID, from the Woodland Trust, is an interactive A-Z guide of native and common non-native trees found around Britain.

Using bark, leaves, buds, flowers, fruits and twigs, you

can identify a tree in any season, browse detailed images and uncover facts about the species, from its history to its uses.

The app is currently compatible with iOS, but the Woodland Trust is developing an Android version, expected soon. It can be used while you’re out and about as no internet connection is needed.
