Approval by Westminster Councli of plans for a public ‘floating park’ has led to concern by the Inland Waterways Association that some of the capital’s limited mooring space is being lost. The Association has also criticised the lack of consultation on the plans for floating lawns, cherry trees and pergola. However the developers say there will be space for floating traders, and the Canal & River Trust pointed out to Canal Boat that this part of the basin is on a long lease to a property company and is currently completely unused.
