Canal Boat - - The Cruise Guide -

Limit of navigation: the first section of the abandoned northern reaches which ran from Snarestone to Moira has now been restored and reopened. The new limit of navigation is just beyond the new Bridge 62, and further sections are expected to reopen in the coming years. However at present the winding hole at the new temporary terminus is only large enough for boats up to about 50ft to turn; longer craft must turn at the old navigable limit at Snarestone.

Snarestone Tunnel: the roof dips down inside the tunnel toward the northern end restricting headroom, so make sure that chimneys etc are removed before entering. Don’t attempt to pass other craft inside the tunnel.
