Canal Boat - - News -

A Canal & River Trust team were clearing up after a stoppage on the Regent’s Canal when their work boat hit an underwater obstruction so large that it brought the 45-tonne vessel to an instant halt. An hour’s work with a crane eventually recovered a large safe from the canal – empty and with the back broken open. CRT’s Stewart Qureshi remarked that with the popularity of canals today, they weren’t “the best place to dump something if you’re trying to get away with a crime”.
