QSome 30-plus years ago there was a company trying to build GRP narrowboats. What became of them?

ATONY REPLIES: Wilderness boats still make small trailable GRP narrowboats. Fibreline Boats (which I think began with some government funding in Wales) built a few of around 45 to 55ft in the 1990s but they did not seem to catch on. Way back in the 1960s Morgan Giles built fully GRP narrowboats that are distinctive by their moulded engine covers right on the stern. There have been several makers of GRP narrowbeam cruisers such as Viking, Highline and Atlanta. Viking and Atlanta cruisers are still being built.
