2000 65FT VENTUS
THE steelwork on the three-berth narrowboat Ventus is by GT Boatbuilders with a fit-out by Ian Elcock. It is powered by a classic 1960 Dorman 24hp diesel engine coupled to a PRM260 gearbox and features a boatman’s cabin which provides the benefit of a cloakroom and an extra toilet on board.
The saloon’s half-glazed front doors open out onto the front deck, reached via storage steps. Heating is provided by the galley’s Sig Marine oil-fired stove running two radiators, which is also used for cooking and the Epping Boatman’s Range in the cabin. The Shaker-style galley also includes a washing machine and 12v fridge.
