FINESSE SONOMA 60FT SEMI-TRAD
FINESSE IS A relatively new name to boat-fitting, with the company launching at last year’s show, but bringing boats for the first time this year. We were impressed when we tested their first boat last year. The company is the boat-fitting arm of the well known shell builders, Tyler Wilson, and now has exclusive access to Jonathan Wilson’s steelwork. This boat is based on one of his Josher shells.
Sonoma is a luxurious reverse layout semi-trad, with the galley at the stern. The owners have made some bold colour choices for the interior, but they work fantastically well. The first example of this is the purple stripey fabric on the dinette, which looks first rate. In the saloon, there’s a stylish (and well stocked) drinks cabinet. There’s more purple in the shower room, where a couple of different shades are used for the walls and the cubicle. We also liked the floating basin unit. The cabin, at the bow, has an in-line bed and high level cupboards.
The boat is powered by a Beta 50 engine and there’s a Vetus 95kgf bow thruster. The electrical system is 24v, and has six 120Ah batteries and a 5kW Victron inverter.
Finesse boats of this length start at £140,000 but we suspect this one cost a bit more.
Verdict A first class combination of style and quality.
