LAST YEAR, Stoke Boats showed a boat with a fully painted interior and the idea seems to have caught on with their customers, as this year’s boat was also fully painted inside. This time the interior was white, giving a very contemporary feel.

The layout is a bit different from the norm, as the owners wanted the boat to be completely see-through – so you can stand at one end of the boat and see the other. The galley is at the stern and features sparkly white worktops. The saloon has a Hamlet stove and fixed benches either side that convert into a double bed. The bathroom is the most unusual area, because at first it appears to be just a corridor with cupboards. But the doors open to close off the room from the rest of the boat. On one side there’s a hip bath, while on the other there’s a loo and basin unit. The main cabin at the front has more fixed benches either side, which convert into the bed. The reason for the unusual layout is that the owners intend to use the boat for entertaining as much as cruising, so there’s plenty of room for friends to spend a day on board.

Stoke Boats build their own shells, and the quality of the steelwork always looks good. The engine is a Beta 43, and there are four 160Ah batteries and a 3kW Victron inverter.

Verdict: Quirky layout and a contemporary interior from a versatile builder.
