TAMWORTH CASTLE has its origins in Anglo-Saxon days, but the surviving structure dates from Norman times, with its well-preserved motte and bailey architecture modified at various times over the centuries. Today it’s open to the public with 15 rooms furnished to match different eras in its long history, while the tower provides fine views over the town.
