Max Van der Sloot (1986-2017)
Liveaboard boater Max Van der Sloot was taken on his final journey to Slough Crematorium on a 1950 Leyland Beaver. The main reason for choosing the 67-year-old lorry was that the MXV 610 registration number closely matched his initials.
Max was born in Hillingdon, left school at 16 years old and spent the next two years renovating his GRP cabin cruiser Lollipop, which then became his home, moored on the Thames.
He lost his life in tragic circumstances on his friend’s riverboat. He is deeply missed by his mum Kaye, his dad Peter and his brothers Guy and Ross.
