Please help me find my beautiful old boat

I am looking for my old David Piper boat build number 239 called Jess which was sold following my husband’s death in 2011. When we viewed her in Ellesmere Marina, the owners took us out for a trip giving us turns in steering the boat. She handled beautifully but as we found out she was a David Piper, that wasn’t surprising. On another occasion they took us to the top of the Montgomery where we had a picnic. We decided to buy her subject to survey and she was booked into the dry dock at Ellesmere. The survey showed she needed her base overplating and we went halves with the owner on the cost. She was craned out at Maestermyn (now Whittington Wharf) where the work was done. The chap who did the work found that the cup the rudder fitted into needed attention so did that too, he also found a leak on the fuel tank so that was added to the list. Finally he put roof rails on both sides of the boat which my husband Michael later put wood on to make them more comfortable to hold.

An ex-BW employee and his mate built a mooring outside the cottage with piles supplied by BW who said that as the bank needed them anyway we might as well make use of them. My husband repainted

Jess and did all the lettering and lines.
