INTERIOR
The interior can be awkward to soundproof effectively, especially with moulded carpets. It’s often easier to strip the fittings, which can be timeconsuming and potentially problematic with electrical connections for seatbelt tensioners. However, a stripped interior is easier to assess and soundproof. Thick non-adhesive soundproofing mats can be fitted to the floors, but check the area is dry, especially if the material is not waterproof. Adhesive material can be fitted to the centre tunnel, the insides of the sills and around the sides of the front footwells.
If stripping the interior is out of the question, try to squeeze small pieces of soundproofing material underneath the carpets (or the floor mats) and behind any interior trim panels.
