Painting

While powder-coating offers much longer-lasting protection and a superior finish, painting is a less expensive and time-consuming repair option for non-diamond-cut rims. As long as they do not weaken the rim significantly, deep gashes in the spokes can be filled with normal body filler, which can survive painting but cannot tolerate the high oven temperatures used in powder-coating.
