We liked this entry-level system with a colour 2.8-inch LCD screen. It can identify and reset engine fault codes, as well as extinguish illuminated engine management lamps. Not only can it display up to four live data streams within a single graph, but it also shows a freeze-frame of captured readings at the time of fault detection. It performs the basic tasks effectively, but its use is restricted only to engine functions and we noticed that some features were not supported when tested on our Citroën. We also found that the lead between the EOBD socket and the head-unit was too short, especially if the EOBD socket is positioned on the nearside. Regardless, we felt that Clarke’s offering would be adequate for most users of older cars desiring live readout information from their engines only.
