The Maxidiag MD808PRO represents one of the newer, costlier tools, although it still offers excellent value and boasts a considerable leap in functionality. The main advantages include being able to interrogate, access and delete fault codes from not only the engine ECU but also all the other computers throughout the vehicle. This particular unit also boasts extra functionalities, including being able to support replacing batteries that are coded to the vehicle, as well as control over SRS, DPF, electric park brake (EPB) systems and steering angle sensor recalibration, along with the usual engine fault code interrogation and live data readings. We liked the large screen, although some graphics are not as clear as those used by other manufacturers, and while the tool itself is sturdy, its case and buttons feel cheap. The clincher for us, aside from the software features, is that all updates are free for the life of the tool.
