Swirl flaps

In the March 2017 issue of CM, you mention a known swirl flap issue with the project BMW 118d. Would you know if my 2003 Land Rover Freelander TD4 has these? I’ve recently fitted an EGR bypass kit, but will remove the swirl flaps if it has them. Stephen Haywood Although the engine in your Freelander is built by BMW in Steyr, Austria, it does not have the swirl flaps as found in other BMW vehicles. The Land Rover version uses a variable vane turbo to control the flow pressure on the common-rail engine.
