I have a 2010 Skoda Octavia 1.2 TSI petrol es­tate with en­gine CBZB. The trac­tion con­trol sys­tem (TCS) warn­ing lamp is com­ing on at times, whether the car is sta­tion­ary or mov­ing. If I switch the ig­ni­tion off and on again, the light goes out. It hap­pens only a few times and does not af­fect the run­ning of the car. Bill Mclean The TCS pre­vents the driv­ing wheels from slip­ping when ac­cel­er­at­ing by throt­tling the en­gine power out­put. The sys­tem is in­cor­po­rated into the anti-lock brak­ing sys­tem and uses the ABS sen­sors to de­tect a dif­fer­ence in the in­di­vid­ual wheel speed. It will also get in­for­ma­tion from the lat­eral and lon­gi­tu­di­nal ac­cel­er­a­tion senders, the brake switch and the yaw rate sender.

As the ABS light is not in­di­cat­ing a fault, I sus­pect that the prob­lem is not with any of the ABS sen­sors. It could,
