halfords 3 tonne hydraulic garage lift – Quick lift

Car Mechanics (UK) - - Project Mercedes-benz E320 Cdi - www.halfords.com

Being the largest of its type within Halfords’ DIY jack range, this competively-priced offering looks smart, well made, and includes a fairly rudimentary, but effective, one-stroke foot-mounted quick-lift facility that dropped slightly once foot pressure was taken away. We appreciated the comprehensive instructions, which were needed to assemble the quick-lift pedal, and we also liked that the two-part handle could not only be locked into place on the jack by hand but also its two halves did not require bolting together.

Our main disappointment was that a front wheel came off during our manoeuvrability test, due to a loose e-type retaining circlip. Vital stats: Length 685mm Width 346mm Min/max saddle heights 145mm/500mm

The Halfords quick-lift pedals operate directly on the lifting arm and not on the hydraulics.
