Car Mechanics (UK) - - Product Test -

Laser’s 4875 combines everything that we liked about the Kennedy and Sealey pocket testers. Not only is a battery included, but also we found that the two flat edges and firmer side grips made the tool easier to handle. The performance impressed us, too. Like the other best testers here, no difference was recorded between samples B (210°C) and C (192°C), but all of the Laser’s LEDS lit for the very elderly fluid in our sample D (160°C).

Therefore, while the performance was virtually identical to that of the runner-up Sealey, we judged the superior case and slightly lower RRP as sufficient to see it nudge into our top spot. It is worth noting that careful shopping can get you the Laser tester for the same price as the Kennedy unit.
