This compact headtorch produces 70-130 lumens of light for 2-4 hours with a recharge time via a USB lead of one hour. While the illumination isn’t the brightest on test, it was nonetheless sufficient, however the head strap on our test model was too short, even when fully extended. We requested another head strap and this was just as short – when compared with the other head torches, the head strap is noticeably shorter. However, we managed to test the unit without the head strap and found it made a useful inspection lamp. It has a magnetic back, so it can be secured to metal objects and provides a moderate amount of illumination. The on/off button is hard to operate, especially when wearing gloves, and particularly hard to find when it’s on your head. There’s also a confusing standby function where a red light flashes, which is designed to make it easier to find the light should you lose it. Switching off the red light requires the on/off button to be held down for a few seconds, but we often found this switched it back on again.
