RENEW POLLEN FILTER

Remove the plastic trim plugs securing the scuttle panel cover. Prise up the cover, but don’t remove it, then extract the old pollen filter underneath. Remove all leaves and debris before fitting a new one. Dirt around the filter could block a drain hole for the inner wing, resulting in the filter being flooded and the heater damaged.

DRAIN ENGINE OIL

Run the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil, then switch it off and undo the 13mm sump plug. Up to six litres of oil will drain out, so have a suitable container ready to catch it. Leave it for several minutes to allow the oil to drain fully.

RENEW OIL FILTER

The spin-on oil filter can be accessed from underneath the engine. Place a cloth over the exhaust downpipe to stop oil dripping onto it. There’s just enough space to squeeze in a pair of water pump pliers or a chain-type filter wrench. Add a smear of fresh oil to the seal of the new filter to prevent it being torn when it’s fitted. Only hand-tighten the new filter.
