I read with interest the article concerning the 2.7 diesel engine fitted to the Land Rover Discovery (Electronic Diagnostics, October 2017). The article talks about faults with the EGR valves and briefly mentions blanking them off. The pictures accompanying the article actually show an engine in which the EGR system has been adjusted in this way.

The valves are still in place but the interconnecting pipework has been removed, the openings blanked and the flap inside the throttle body removed.
