Seat Arona

CAR (UK) - - Insider -

Seat was slow to oer any sort of SUV but has now followed the Ateca with its irst smaller crossover, the Arona, named after a municipality in Tenerife and designed to take on crossover heavyweights like the Nissan Juke and Renault Captur.

Think of it as an Ibiza on stilts and you’re not far o. It uses the VW Group A0 platform shared by its Ibiza sibling and Polo cousin and has an interior largely borrowed from both. Ditto the engines: there’s a 1.0-litre TSI that produces either 94bhp or 113bhp along with the VW Group’s fresh 1.5-litre TSI Evo with 148bhp and a 1.6-litre TDI diesel variant. A six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG are your gearbox options. Spec options include wireless phone charging, keyless entry and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
