FOUR POT POWER
Like no other Jaguar currently on sale, EPace is exclusively powered by four-cylinder engines mounted transversely in the nose. Options stretch from tepid and frugal (diesel, manual, front-drive) right through to juicy and Golf R-fast; 296bhp petrol, auto, all-wheel drive). Launch line-up doesn’t include a hybrid, though the plug-in hybrid powertrain from the recently conirmed (by Dr Ralf Speth) PHEV Range Rover – a combination of 2.0-litre petrol Ingenium engine and electric drive module – will see service in larger Jaguars thereafter. All JLR cars will be electriied from 2020, but EPace is some way back in that queue.
