Details to die for: 991 vs 991.2
Two GT3 RS 911s, both alike in dignity…
Aerodynamics 8% more downforce, helped by a new diuser, wider skirts, broader front spoiler lip and new rear wing end plates and supports.
Power is up 20bhp to 513bhp; torque is up 7lb ft to 347lb ft. The 4.0-litre lat-six’s extra oomph comes largely from revised valvegear, new exhaust and induction systems and tweaked electronics, lifting the redline to 9000rpm.
Stickers Standard on the 991.2 GT3 RS – just in case onlookers were in any doubt.
New tail-lights at the back, LED indicators at the front. NACA ducts on bonnet help cool brakes, and all vents are reshaped to get air in and out.
Suspension Rose-jointed, with similar spring rates front and rear as GT2 RS. That’s double the previous RS at the front, up 50% at the rear.
Titanium exhaust Titanium silencer and tailpipes. No wonder it sounds so good.
20s up front, 21s at the rear as before, but now 100g lighter. Every little bit helps, you know.
Weissach Pack Oers the option of carbon roof and magnesium wheels.
