Leonie’s hints & tips

Follow Leonie’s expert advice and ideas for making these pretty typographic frames

Cardmaking and Papercraft - - Crafty With Leonie Get -

To attach the letters to the card, I applied a thin layer of glue to my heat-resistant craft mat and dipped each letter in. I found this quick and easy, and I didn’t get too much glue on the letters or too messy.

When creating a poem, verse or sentiment, write it out first. This can save spelling mistakes when sticking the letters in place on your project.

I have mixed up my letters, using different fonts, but you can use the same font throughout – which can look really effective.

Vary the colour of card you work with, as well as the font, to make your own creative and funky designs.

The embossing folders and dies are brilliant to use with the smaller die-cutting machines, making them super quick and easy – and the perfect way to use scraps of card.

You may find Crafter’s Companion’s Xyron Create a Sticker Machine handy, as you can feed the letter through and leave them on the sticky sheet until you are ready to use them. When you are ready, simply peel them off, and they will have an edge to edge layer of adhesive.
