“I love hearing your crafting stories and seeing your fab cards, so please write in and share them with me!”

Eye-catching make

I was so pleased to receive the Mermaid Wishes stamp set and paper collection. They’re so lovely and the papers blend beautifully with the rest of the set! As soon as the magazine arrived, I had to sit down and start playing. I even used the net off the onions, colouring it with Metallic Gilding Polish. The card doesn’t smell of onions, thank goodness! I’ve been so busy that it’s been difficult to find the time to sit down and read the magazine, but now I can enjoy it and see if there are any more ideas for me to try. Thank you again for your super magazine. Anita Elliot, Cornwall Sienna says: Wow, what a fabulous idea using the netting from your onions – inspired! You would never guess as the Metallic Gilding Polish has transformed it. It perfectly complements the other shimmering elements, too!

Deep sea diving

I received my magazine with the Mermaid Wishes set and it couldn’t be more perfect. My grandson has just come back from Thailand where he took a course in scuba diving and fell in love with it. His birthday is in July so I’ve made him an underwater birthday card. I got a silhouette printed out to the size I wanted and then used a few of the stamps. I placed everything at different heights to achieve a floating effect. I also used the package the stamps were in to get the water effect, crumpling it up to create the right texture.

Val Roberts, via email Sienna says: I am in awe of the amazing scuba diver searching for hidden underwater treasures. I’m sure that your grandson will be just as impressed with this super birthday card!

Hanging out

I’ve never written in before but thought you would like to see my small wall hanging that I made using the lovely Mermaid Wishes stamp set. I thought I would make something different and I was inspired by the colours used by Fleur Pearson in the magazine. I used pencils and a touch of glitter. I hope you like it. It now hangs in my bathroom and looks so pretty. Thank you for such a lovely gift and a great magazine. Suzanne Mondon, Southampton

Sienna says: What a great idea to make a wall hanging from the set, and what beautiful summery colours you’ve used, too. I love the idea of seeing this wonderful mermaid every day. What a treat! Happy crafting, Suzanne.

Shimmering scene

The stamps and papers in this month’s magazine are perfect for my niece, Scarlett, who is 10 and loves mermaids. I hope she enjoys the card as much as I enjoyed making it. I used glitter pens, Glossy Accents and added extra bling with sequins.

Judith Thomas, Gwent Sienna says: What a dazzling and sparkling creation you’ve made! I love all of the glistening elements – they create such a wonderful underwater effect! I really hope your niece loves this card as much as I do! Keep up the fabulous crafting, Judith!

A piece of Cyprus

I’ve just come back from a lovely holiday in Cyprus and was so excited to get started with the lovely Mermaid Wishes set. I thought you would like to see the finished result. It now hangs on our bathroom wall. I used the Mermaid Wishes set and shells from a beach in Cyprus. Lorna Conduit, Bishop’s Stortford Sienna says: The bathroom is a perfect location for this stunning underwater scene! What a gorgeous wall hanging. I love that you’ve saved a piece of your holiday and added it to your creation. It gives the make such a wonderful, personal touch! Beautiful!

Hanne’s new home

My eight-year-old granddaughter Hanne is very upset as she is moving and having to leave her school and friends behind. Her new bedroom is going to be mermaid-themed, so imagine my delight to find that you had supplied me with just the thing to bring back her lovely smile. I hope that you like my 3D card as much as I know Hanne will. She can put it on a shelf and look at it every time she feels sad. Karen Blackman, Peckleton Sienna says: What a wonderful grandmother Hanne has! This is

such a lovely, thoughtful creation and I’m sure it will put a huge smile on your granddaughter’s face! I wouldn’t be surprised if this card takes pride of place in her new bedroom, too!

Colourful creation

I was inspired by Sharon’s floral wreath in your July issue (171). We’ve just moved into a new build and the walls are all plain white, which we can’t paint. So, I set about making my own floral wreath with supplies from my stash. I cut out a cardboard circle from a moving box, and painted it with American Decor Chalk Paint. The majority of the decorations were made using Tim Holtz Jumbo and Bigz Tattered Floral and Leaves dies. I’m really pleased with how it turned out and it’s certainly brightened up my hallway. Dawn Deacon, via email Sienna says: This is such a beautiful, summery make! The layering of different colours really elevates the whole make. What a wonderful and creative way to brighten up your new home!

Crafting caravan

I love making cards but the trouble is my spare room is just too small. So, when I collect my
