“The 10 ideas with gin­ger­bread are all so fun – my favourite has to be the ‘bak­ing tray’ card”

1 Pa­per clips

1 Die-cut three mini gin­ger­bread men from Kraft card and ink the edges in white. 2 Die-cut a hat, bow tie and candy cane from coloured card and at­tach to each gin­ger­bread man. 3 Add small pearls for but­tons. Glue gin­ger­bread men to large pa­per clips to fin­ish.

2 Pop up card

1 Cre­ate a 160x150mm tent-fold Kraft base card and round the cor­ners. Cover the in­side with pat­terned pa­per. 2 Cut a 150x220mm piece of spotty pa­per, fold in half and round the cor­ners. Mea­sure 40mm from each side and make two 80mm slits (40mm ei­ther side of the cen­tral fold). Score be­tween the top and bot­tom of each slit, then push out the cen­tral panel. At­tach in­side the base. Add strips of checked pa­per and ri­crac. 3 Die-cut a gin­ger­bread house and at­tach to the pop out panel. Die-cut a gin­ger­bread man and at­tach to the door. Add a sen­ti­ment, die-cut candy canes and but­tons to fin­ish.

3 Ho Ho Ho!

1 Round the cor­ners of a 180x125mm Kraft base card. Layer 170x115mm snowflake pa­per onto checked pa­per, round cor­ners and at­tach. 2 Die-cut a bak­ing tray from sil­ver mir­ror card and at­tach with sticky fix­ers. Cut an oven glove from checked pa­per, add ri­crac and at­tach un­der the bak­ing tray with sticky fix­ers. 3 Die-cut six mini gin­ger­bread men from Kraft card. Ink the edges in brown and at­tach. Add a stamped and em­bossed sen­ti­ment in the top right corner.

4 Large gin­ger­bread man

1 Us­ing the tem­plate on page 86, cut out two gin­ger­bread men from Kraft card. At­tach on ei­ther side of a 50x150mm Kraft base card. 2 Draw stitches around the edge of the front gin­ger­bread man with an em­boss­ing pen and heat em­boss in white. Punch out small black cir­cles for eyes and use black pearls for the mouth. 3 At­tach ri­crac to the arms and legs. Add a stamped sen­ti­ment, small bow and but­tons.

5 Sea­son’s greet­ings jar

1 Layer a 135mm square of spotty pa­per onto pat­terned pa­per. Add to a 145mm square white base card. Draw a jar shape on the spotty pa­per and cut through front panel with a craft knife. Glue ac­etate to back of the aper­ture. 2 Run sticky fix­ers around the back of the aper­ture. Add die-cut mini gin­ger­bread men and sweets, and back with a 125mm square of sen­ti­ment pa­per. 3 Cre­ate a jar lid from sil­ver mir­ror card, wrap with baker’s twine and at­tach with sticky fix­ers. Add a die-cut bow and a stamped and em­bossed sen­ti­ment to fin­ish.

6 Treat bag

1 Die-cut two houses from Kraft card and glue one house to the back of the clear treat bag. Draw stitch­ing around the other house with an em­boss­ing pen, and heat em­boss in white. 2 At­tach the em­bossed house to the front of the clear bag and open the door. Die-cut a sweet in red and white card then at­tach to the front house with sticky fix­ers. 3 Die-cut a gin­ger­bread man from Kraft card and add red die-cut but­tons. Punch a hole in the top and thread baker’s twine through the hole to cre­ate a tag.

7 Cracker

1 Cre­ate a ba­sic cracker from tree pa­per us­ing a tem­plate or a die. Wrap a strip of con­trast­ing pa­per and ri­crac around the cen­tre and glue in place. 2 Die-cut a gin­ger­bread man from Kraft card and add die-cut heart but­tons and ri­crac. Add small black pearls for eyes and draw a mouth with a black pen. 3 At­tach the gin­ger­bread man in the cen­tre with glue, then roll up the cracker and tie each end with twine.

8 ’Tis the sea­son

1 Layer a 95x140mm piece of tree pa­per onto checked pa­per and at­tach to a 105x150mm white base card. Die-cut an 80mm square aper­ture from the front panel and add con­trast­ing pa­per in­side the base. 2 Die-cut two gin­ger­bread men from Kraft card. Add ri­crac, bow ties and candy canes. Add black pearls for but­tons and eyes and draw on a mouth with a black pen. 3 At­tach a length of clear thread down the back of one of the gin­ger­bread men and glue the other on top. At­tach the thread be­hind the aper­ture. Add a sen­ti­ment and but­tons.

9 Noel

1 Layer 125mm square of check­ered pa­per onto snowflake pa­per; add to a 135mm square Kraft base card. Die-cut a 100mm cir­cle from the front panel. Add snowflake pa­per in­side the base. 2 Die-cut five mini gin­ger­bread men from Kraft card and at­tach to­gether. Add hats, bow ties and black pearls for but­tons. 3 At­tach across the top of the aper­ture. Add a sen­ti­ment and baker’s twine bow to the bot­tom.

10 No peek­ing gift box

1 Die-cut two gin­ger­bread houses from Kraft card and pat­terned pa­per. Die-cut a roof from Kraft card and pat­terned pa­per and glue them to­gether. Fold the roof in half. 2 Cut a 90x230mm piece of pat­terned pa­per and score 10mm down each long side. Mea­sure and score along at 70mm and 160mm, then fold to cre­ate the body of the box. 3 At­tach the houses to both sides of the body of the box. Glue the roof at the top along one side and leave the other side open. Add a stamped sen­ti­ment and baker’s twine bow to fin­ish.
