Catch up with Sara Davies’ latest news and make a sweet sewing-themed card
This month, Sara tries out her sewing skills to mark the arrival of her new collection and celebrates one Crafter’s Companion store’s first birthday, plus – Oliver starts school!
Hello! It’s great to be back with another catch-up to share all my crafty exploits over the past month, especially as I’ve been busy trying a new craft lately – sewing! I got together with my Mam, sister, Auntie Lynn and her friend to do a bag making workshop in the Newton Aycliffe store with our resident expert, Bernie, and it was so much fun. I was so proud of the little tote bag I made, and it’s come at the perfect time as I’ve just released my new Signature Collection, which is full of both papercraft and sewing goodies. I can’t wait to build on my skills and have a go at some more sewing projects.
Exciting times last month as our Evesham store celebrated its first birthday, so I took a trip down to see the wonderful ladies who work so hard for us every day. I held some demos and mini workshops for their lovely customers and it was a fantastic day – I had such a blast! I just had to send the ladies at the store some flowers afterwards, to thank them for all their hard work. I’m so lucky as they really are a great bunch of people to work with.
Finally, it was a pretty emotional time last month, and a huge milestone for us as a family as my eldest son, Oliver, officially started school. It feels like only yesterday that he was a tiny baby snuggled in my arms, so to see him looking so excited and proud in his little uniform was an amazing moment. He’s loving it so far and, in his first week, he was chosen as the Star Pupil! He was so proud of himself, and of course we had to FaceTime all the grandparents to give them the news and show them the badge and certificate his teacher gave him. I’m so proud to see how well he’s adapted to school life and I can’t wait to see him flourish! That’s all from me for now, until next time… happy crafting!
