I want to make a Christmas card for our family pet dog. Do you have any ideas, please?

Cardmaking and Papercraft - - Crafter’s Q & A -

Dorothy says:

What a fun idea! Our dog just loves Christmas and is a dab hand these days at opening presents – especially if there is a treat inside. This got me thinking of making a card design to incorporate a mini bone biscuit. You didn’t say what breed of dog you have but there are lots of doggy stamps available with different breeds such as the fun Dylusion Puppy Dog tails from Buddlycrafts.com. The five stamps include a poodle, bulldog and dachshund, and the accessories could be coloured in festive hues to match the occasion.

I also found the delightful Happy Pawlidays stamp set from My Favorite Things. It has four generic playful pups to choose from and all with a Christmas theme. Each dog has a different personality so I’m sure you’ll find one to suit! To make the base step card, cut a 150x295mm piece of card and score at 100, 200 and 245mm. Fold up to create the step at the front. Rather than colouring the elements I decided to stamp onto a variety of Christmas papers and cut out, layering the pieces to build up the colours. Once complete, I tied a treat to the tag and attached with a sticky fixer. The Happy Pawlidays stamp set is available from Bumbleberrys.co.uk.
